Our Research:

We use Xenopus laevis cell-free extracts to study DNA replication and repair. We are interested in understanding:

  • the mechanism of double-strand break resection with a focus on the role of CtIP

  • the mechanism of double strand break repair pathway choice, and its relevance to cancer development

  • understanding the mechanism by which cMYC regulates DNA replication

  • the molecular mechanism of replication independent repair (RIR) of DNA interstrand crosslinks
